However, scams related to motorbike rentals and taxis are more prevalent, so it's important to be wary. Both gender-based harassment and tourist-targeted crimes are low compared to other regions.

Moving around Ko Samui is fairly straightforward. It offers a variety of options like taxis, motorbikes, and Songthaew (a local shared pick-up truck). The island is not too large, so travelling short distances isn't a hassle. However, taxis can be expensive and public transport isn't extremely regular, hence, renting a motorbike is a popular choice among many. Adequate signage in English makes navigating around easier. Just keep in mind to exercise caution, particularly when riding motorbikes and negotiating taxi fares.
