Group travel

I went with a mixed friend group, and we stayed at a quite central location. Although it did get dark at night as it was not surrounded by crowded areas, both during the day and at night, I did not encounter any situation that made me feel unsafe.

Solo travel

I went to Palermo quite a few times now, and I really recommend it. Beware of the fact that in summer it is incredibly hot, and packed with tourists. I would recommend going in April/May. People are very lively there, especially in Ballarò. It isn't the safest city, I would recommend not travelling with any jewelry, that is my personal preference. The food is amazing there and inexpensive: go to "il signor Carbognano for an amazing Ice cream with Brioche"

Solo travel

I spent 2 nights in Palermo and I enjoyed my time. It gave a vibe that no other city gave before. The city is a fusion of different cultures and you can see the multicultural effects in everything which I loved. I'm not so used to traveling solo, at first because of all the catcalling I was a little uncomfortable but then I tried to be in busy places and streets and felt somewhat safe.

Solo travel

I loved Palermo. I stayed in a beautiful Airbnb, which was totally affordable and close to everything. On the first evening, I participated in an Airbnb tour with a woman from there and she showed me amazing things, making me feel totally comfortable. I loved Italy and Sicily.

Solo travel

I was in Palermo for 4 days last October as a solo traveller. Not once did I feel unsafe, even in the evenings. Full of life, full of people. I loved it.

Better to not being alone. Walk Always with a friend if you are not a local. But if you walk alone dont talk and dont watch, dont give the chance to reply. People most of the time are just annoying. But if they continue be aggressive or weird

It's safe if you follow a local's guide or if you are walking in groups after dark specially. Although I would say that there are some areas that are to be avoided the rest of the areas are particularly safe. Although being a tourist I would suggest to watch out for your belongings and traps from local vendors.

About Me

Hi I'm Fatima originating from Pakistan but currently living in Italy for my education. I'm not gonna bore anyone with long paragraphs or interests lists, just I'm an easy going person open to having diversified experiences, loves nature (obviously) and can dance all night. 😅 So far I have traveled to multiple places in Italy and am excited to start my solo journey in Europe with learning different cultures and expanding knowledge, with a peak interest in engaging conversations regarding politics and social issues. (If you are open) That's it for now, later I'll see you on the other side. 😌😉
