Safety:Safe

Hubli is a moderate city in terms of safety for female solo travelers. Like any other place, it's essential to take basic precautions. It's advised to avoid less crowded areas and not to venture out late at night alone. New travelers should be aware of their surroundings and keep their belongings secure. While overall it is not necessarily a dangerous city, these carefulness measures enhance personal safety.

Transport:Easy

Hubli is moderately easy to navigate, especially as a solo female traveler. Public transport is widely available and includes options such as buses, auto-rickshaws, and taxis. Better yet, most locals are conversational in English and are usually helpful if you need assistance. However, congestion can be a bit of an issue during peak hours and aside from the main areas, some parts of the city might not be as accessible.

Things to do:Moderate

Hubli is a moderate blend of wildlife, historical sites and spiritual locations. It is particularly worth visiting if you're after authentic cultural experiences. From Unkal Lake where you can enjoy a serene lake view to Chandramouleshwara Temple designed with an architectural grandeur, Hubli offers a diverse range of activities. The region's wildlife, including at the Nrupatunga Hill, is quite spectacular. However, if you're looking for a metropolis thrill or beach relaxation, this might not be the spot for you. It's also important to plan your visit well, because some landmarks might have limited visiting hours.

Food:Above average

Hubli, delivers a delightful gastronomic experience, serving a variety of dishes that range from local Karnataka cuisine to international fare. Traditional foods are rich in flavor and predominantly vegetarian, often consisting of rice, lentils, and fresh fruits and vegetables. Non-vegetarian options, influenced by neighboring states and Mughlai cuisine, are also available. Street food is a must-try for its delicious and inexpensive selections. However, the city lacks a bit in terms of fine dining options and a wider variety of international cuisines.

Budget:Affordable

Hubli is quite a budget-friendly destination. Being a non-touristy city, the cost of accommodations, food, and transport is significantly lower compared to other popular cities in India. However, it's less economical than other smaller towns or rural areas in the country. The market area offers many local goods at reasonable prices, and the local delicacies are both delicious and affordable. Your biggest expense might be the cost of reaching Hubli from major cities, but it's rather modest compared to international travel.
