Police presence is perceptible to ensure safety. Nevertheless, like any other city, it’s always recommended to take basic precautions such as not venturing out alone late at night and always being aware of your surroundings.

Transport:Easy

Ayodhya, as a relatively small city, is relatively easy to navigate. There is ample public transportation, including auto rickshaws and cycle rickshaws, commonly used for short distances, which makes it convenient for getting around the city. The locals are generally hospitable and willing to help if you need directions. It is encouraged to learn a few common phrases in Hindi to facilitate communication. However, it could get a bit crowded during peak hours and festival periods, which may slightly affect ease of movement.

Ayodhya is a town rich in cultural heritage and has a significant place in the religious history of India. The town is home to numerous ancient temples that provide visitors the chance to delve into India's ancient and rich culture. Ayodhya offers a variety of delectable and authentic North Indian cuisine. The range is quite diverse, from spicy chaats and tangy pickles to heavenly sweets. Street food is a must-try. There might be a limitation for global cuisine, but for those who enjoy local flavours, it's a real treat. However, one challenge may lie in finding vegetarian dishes as their meals often include meat.

Budget:Affordable

Ayodhya, is considerably affordable for solo female travelers. Accommodations, ranging from budget to mid-range, are available at reasonable prices. Most of the temples and spiritual sites, which are Ayodhya's major attractions, have no entry fees. Eating at local food stalls and restaurants is also a cost-efficient choice, as Indian cuisine is generally inexpensive. However, getting around may incur a small cost as there is no efficient public transportation system.

Solo travel experience

I just visited and all resources are there to make you feel safe. I stayed at the Radisson and walked to the junction to get the bus to Ram Janmabhoomi. From there I walked everywhere. The latest I traveled was around 8 pm and the rickshaw drivers were very nice and helpful. There are a lot of police everywhere willing to assist. Places I walked to in one day: - Ram Janmabhoomi (shorter line in the evening but it also moves very quickly) - Dasharath Bhavan - Ram Bharat Milap - Kanak Bhavan - Tulsidas Smaran - Valmiki Bhavan (I was a little wary walking here but only because I was unfamiliar…it was safe and fine) - Sarayu Nadi Naya Ghat - Hanuman Garhi
