Safety:Very safe

Lefkada is generally a safe place for solo female travelers. Violent crime is extremely rare, locals are welcoming and willing to help, and the local police are reliable. As with any travel destination, standard precautions should be taken, especially at night and in less crowded areas. Street lighting can sometimes be poor in more remote areas, but overall, Lefkada is a safe choice for solo female travelers.

Transport:Easy

Lefkada is quite tourist friendly with its well-maintained roads, and fairly easy to navigate on foot. Local transportation is also reliable, especially in the town and popular tourist areas. However, it could be a little challenging to access the more secluded beaches and mountain villages, where you might need to rent a private vehicle or join a local tour.

Lefkada, is rich with activities and attractions promising an enjoyable trip for solo female travelers. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the stunning beaches like Kathisma and Porto Katsiki, hiking trails full of lush greenery, and tranquil waterfalls like Nydri. Adventure seekers can partake in activities like windsurfing and kitesurfing. The island is home to several vineyards offering wine tasting sessions along with olive groves that provide an insight into olive oil production. The island's cozy coastal towns feature picturesque lanes with quaint restaurants, boutiques, and art galleries, allowing solo travelers to safely explore local culture, cuisine, and art.

Food:Above average

Lefkada offers an array of diverse food options portraying rich Greek culinary traditions. From fresh seafood to succulent meats and refreshing salads, the island's gastronomy does not disappoint. Local delicacies such as lentil soup and honey pies are must-tries. Vegetarian options are also available but may not be as extensive. One might find prices a little higher compared to the mainland, but overall, the quality, variety and authenticity of food is worth experiencing.

Budget:Moderate

Lefkada, which is a Greek island, offers a moderate experience when it comes to budget-friendliness for solo female travelers. Although not as expensive as some better-known destinations, it does entail costs for accommodation, food, transportation, and entertainment that cannot be classified as bargain prices. However, there are certainly ways to cut back on expenses such as trying local street food, staying in budget accommodations, and opting for locally conducted free tours or treks.

Is Lefkada worth visiting?

Solo travel experience

A small, green and mountainous island. The journey itself is enchanting thanks to the beautiful views at every step. You will find stunning beaches here, each with a different shade of turquoise. It is still a relatively undiscovered island, very pastoral. A place to relax in nature. It does not have as many historical sites and beautiful cities as, for example, Crete. However, you can find attractions such as waterfalls and picturesque viewpoints in the mountains. I visited it in June, and many beaches were empty.
