It's a very safe place full of tourists. Food is good. But the shop vendors are very arrogant and if you don't need to buy anything just don't approach them. All beaches are private. It's nice city but small.Posted: November 15, 2023Experienced: August, 2023
I found safety to be varying, more safe in the controlled areas where there is security at entrance gates like senzo mall, city centre mall and the marina. Elsewhere, I did not feel particularly safe, especially around sheraton road, the local tourist shops and sellers can be overly aggressive trying to get your attention. Also, alway ALWAYS USE UBER! Please trust me, this is the safest way for a lone female, of course nothing is 100%, even in uber the driver has argued trying to extort cash from me when I already paid via app. This is a known occurrence, I always show the driver my payment and trip details on my screen before I get in the car and make sure they understand i have already paid and will not pay more cash.Posted: September 24, 2023Experienced: August, 2023
I went on my first solo trip to Hurghada. I felt completely safe all the time. The coral reefs there are amazing for snorkeling. Also fantastic entertainment during the day and in the evenings, the best I've ever experienced anywhere abroad. Also the airport is literally 10-15 mins away so very short transfer time.Posted: July 25, 2023
