Went during the overthrow of the Muslim Brotherhood (unsure if it was 12’ or 13’) nonetheless I was not a fan. I am tan Latina and I found myself feeling unwelcomed in many circumstances. I recall my white roommate encouraging me to approach the natives while I was out and about on my own. I did just that and was met with many unkind faces. There were so many instances where the natives were simply awful i.e. unkind. I am not familiar with the climate of today — i.e. whether they continue to be close-minded, ignorant, colorist, and racist as POCs (which baffles me). But I have always empathized to many of my Arabic language exchange partners that I would not return.
Posted: April 1, 2024The city of Alexandria was a very beautiful city with a lot of fun, excitement, and many special places to visit and enjoy the beach, especially at night. It is a very charming city, as well as the people in it.
Posted: January 9, 2024In Alexandria, you should definitely visit the Alexandria Library, the Qaitbay Citadel, the Royal Jewelry Museum, the Greco-Roman Museum, and the Corniche promenade. Alexandria is known for its villas and cafes, as well as fresh seafood and Mediterranean atmosphere. Cafe Trianon is a place with excellent food and the atmosphere is incredible. Spend some time in Alexandria if you are looking for rest. There are fewer tourists here than in Luxor, Aswan, or Cairo. Learn some Arabic during your stay, even though some people speak English, it is less common than in Upper Egypt and Cairo.

It is indeed safe, except for catcalling and mild sexual harassment in certain areas which I strongly suggest you should stay away from specially late at night. I also suggest you have some advice from locals on where to go and where to stay away from.
Posted: February 4, 2025It is pretty safe actually, specially if you stay in a known hotel and neighberhood.. We got uber and public transportation, our tramways have cars only for women. Staying late till 12 out isn't usually a problem, specially if it is somewhere where a lot of people go.

I am a young girl ☺️ I am passionate about travel, but I started traveling alone within my country, and from here travel became my life. I did not have many trips, I know that, but after that I became crazy about travel, and this year 2024 I was lucky to travel twice to Bulgaria, and it was a completely different experience 🫣 I hope. Next year I will go to more countries
