I attended the German language summer school there, and I absolutely loved it. The city was charming — pleasant in size, not too big, so I felt quite at home. There are plenty of opportunities for wonderful trips in the surrounding area of České Budějovice, such as visiting nearby historical towns, enjoying the beautiful nature, or climbing the city’s iconic Black Tower for a stunning panoramic view.

I would not be scared to stay around even at night , there our this weird drunk entities you don't want to be around, but they are not dangerous. In the city center park might be people using drugs, but I have no experience with them and over all it feel very safe!
Posted: February 8, 2026I think Ceske Budejovice is very safe city, never had a problem with anything. Sometimes near by train station are quite strange people, but there is also always police, so no problem at all. Even tho I go often out at night I feel very safe.
Posted: February 7, 2026Living here I feel very safe — I walk out most days with my dog (which helps), but even without him I’m comfortable. Weekend nights can get loud and chaotic around the centre, so if you don’t like nightlife I’d avoid that area on Friday/Saturday. I’ve never had anything stolen and public transport is generally reliable (occasionally late). I’ve been catcalled once or twice over many years, but nothing serious.

Hi! My name is Vendy and I just recently got into solo traveling. I love exploring new places and cultures! I am in nursing school which limits the time I have for traveling but I try to use every opportunity to explore the world!
