Is Vienna Safe for Solo Female Travelers?

I felt very safe. Even though Viena is very expensive I could enjoy it either way. Ut was more of a budget trip so I really tried not to spent a lot. The museums were very expensive but I could visit 2, one of them was free at that day and the other one “ musa museum” is free so I still get to enjoy. If you’re able to spent more on that I would recommend Albertina museum. I stayed at the Metro apartments for 3 days and it was like 70€. It’s pretty good I think and it was only one hour walking from the center. If you’re visiting on Christmas I recommend to check the Christmas markets. Food recommendation - wurstelstand. That’s it, have a safe trip:)

I can say that Viana is a safe city. I stayed in a nice hotel in the city center and walked to the X-mas markets. Although it got dark early and it was the most crowded time of the city, I did not have any security problems. .

Vienna is a fantastic city to visit solo. I felt very safe the whole time. Mostly everyone spoke English. The waiters were all very friendly. The public transport was easy to take and use. The city was beautiful. It was quite expensive.

everything was safe, I felt good there, I stayed in Vienna for 2 days and spent a total of 400€, I visited all the popular places the people are nice and kind, a bit expensive, but anyway I liked everything

I love Vienna! It was my first solo journey and I’m so grateful for this experience!!! I felt completely safe there, that’s a city with amazing history, culture and food! I’ve spent not that much, because I like to travel cheap, so I ate mcdonalds and food from supermarket. I used couchsurfing for staying there, it was an amazing experience!!! My couchsurfer was a girl with amazing energy and we were talking a lot about our cultures. I’m in love with Albertina museum and I recommend you to visit it, it’s amazing! Transport aren’t expensive, so I liked it too

Hi, I travelled with my friends there . Every well connected. Very safe even at night times. As always there were some weirdos but leaving them aside it was beautiful place. Lovely buildings. Felt it was too hot. Tasty food and water. Friendly people . Less expensive food when compared to Belgium. Excellent public transport.

Couple travel

Vienna is a very safe city. I really enjoy walking around. We travel there in January 2024 so he was very very cold. The restaurants are a bit expensive. The best thing about this city is that music is everywhere. We attended several jazz concert as well as opera and ballet. We love everything about the concert. It is a romantic city full of music, we also enjoy our shopping experience there in the city centre .

For me is Vienna a little bit overated. I was on concert with my female friends and we stay in Vienna for 2 night. The city is pretty, but food and drinks are too expensive. Transfer by taxi is so expensive so I recommend metro.

Solo travel

I was meant to go to Vienna with a friend but she unfortunately couldn’t make the trip, so I decided to carry on the trip solo and I am so glad I did. Vienna is one of the safest places I’ve travelled solo, and even better, I made friends along the way. The baroque architecture is gorgeous and I would definitely want to live here. As for the food, went for a delicious vegan Wiener Schnitzel for dinner upon my arrival and then had a Käsespätzle the next day for lunch. I recommend going for a city tour and then checking out one of the museums. Belvedere Palace is a must, a lovely museum inside and out. Even though I went in January, the weather was mild albeit windy. I’d still recommend going during that time as well if you’re looking for a winter city break getaway!

Family travel

easy to reach. Museums cost between 10-20€. It may be expensive if you eat in famous places, but I think it is worth a try. This was my second time going and I had so much fun. You can find cheap opera tickets on the ticket gretchen app. I went to the ballet show for 5€.

I have never been robbed or assaulted. I feel save in this city. There are many people that are friendly. If you need help, many people will help you. In public transportation i feel safe too. Sometimes there are people that are loud or that are drunk but they are peaceful.

I feel very safe as a woman here. Ofc there are some parts where I feel a little uneasy when it's getting late but I have never been worried that I shouldn't go to certain places or that I don't want to pass through certain parts to get to my location. Just being mindful about your surroundings is enough :)
