Vienna is my fave city in Europe, it was magical for me. I was there for about a week, and my highlights were touring the two fabulous palaces - can't recall names right now, and also the tour of the apartments of the great composers Mozart and Beetovan. I would love to return and spend more time in the museums, especially the Klimt museum. Then there are the famous cafes and Viennese pastry, and just walking around this beautiful city.
Vienna is a great city to walk about in and has a good metro I felt. I stayed in the wombat hostel. It was a good distance to the center and metro and also had a lively atmosphere. Definitely, best hostel I've stayed in and it has private rooms too and breakfast each morning.
I went in Vienna at the end of October for 4 days and it was perfect ! First of all I’m glad about the time I went. The weather was very good considering that it was almost November and also none of the places I visited was crowded with people ! I chose to stay in an apartment instead of a hostel this time vacua’s I came across it on tiktok and it was really beautiful and it made feel safe. The name is Sophienne apartments and is located right across the metro station. It was so easy to go everywhere. My recommendations : - Even if you have nothing planned to do, just take a walk and you will find so many things ! Literally there’s so many beautiful places all over the city. - You can find people selling food in the middle of the street everywhere, which is good if you have a tight budget and can’t always afford restaurants. - You have to go to Hallstatt ! It’s totally worth it. Such a magical place. - Get your water bottles from a local supermarket. The charge way to much for a small bottle of water even in cafes. Honestly I enjoyed a lot my time in Vienna even if it was an expensive trip.

For Vienna (being a resident here) I'd highly recommend: Belvedere and Schönbrunn as well as a stroll through the old town/first district (Stephansdom); Donaukanal is one of the places to be for drinks in the evening (or Copa Beach - way less crowded but even more holiday feeling); enjoying a coffee and awesome cake in one of the many cafes, e.g. cafe central, Diglas, Jelinek (the last one is absolutely not touristy, waiters tend to be grumpy though :)), sometimes even with live piano music; if you're not vegan you should definitely try a Wiener Schnitzel, e.g. at Amerling Beisl (lovel garden!), Rebhuhn, Figlmüller (very touristy but they got a reputation for their excellent schnitzel).

Itinerary: 2 day trip in vienna Things to do: i visited mainly schönbrunnschloss on my first day. next day i went to rathaus and stephens cathedral. i walked there so there were some attractions (beautiful buildings) on the way there. i also took a carriage ride through the city. Safety: i didn’t feel safe and i was discriminated against by the bus driver(he hit me with the door twice while trying to get in, he looked me in the eyes while doing it. when i got off he gave me a death stare before driving off). the couple on their seats stood up when i sat next to them too. i got a lot of not welcoming stares from almost everyone. i wasnt served first even after being there before the people that got served after me. imo the people are 1/10. the “1” is for a kind girl that spoke to me at the station. beautiful city but unkind people. this has been my worst trip so far. Budget: it’s moderate- not cheap not expensive Accommodation: hotel near the bahnhof. i think about 70€/night Recommendations: visit only if you can deal with racism
