Simple and quiet city. Lots of diverse people of different backgrounds and nationalities. However traffic gridlock is bad as highway construction remains being delayed or extended to keep adding more lanes. Fun place to visit for a few days but not longer than a week. I recommend San Francisco, Napa Valley or Lake Tahoe.
