How safe is Cape Cod?

Safety at night:

Safety at night:Safe

Cape Cod is generally safe for solo female travelers, even at night. Most areas are tourist-friendly and the crime rate is lower than the national average. As always, such as in any location worldwide, it's advisable to stay aware of your surroundings, stick to well-lit and populated areas, and avoid isolated or potentially risky situations if you find yourself walking alone at night.
Public transportation:

Public transportation:Safe

Public transportation in Cape Cod, including the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority, is reliable and generally considered safe. Most buses are equipped with surveillance cameras and there's usually plenty of people onboard during the operational hours adding an extra layer of security. In addition, the drivers are well trained and routes are served regularly which ensures limited waiting times at transitions.
Street harassment:

Street harassment:Low

Cape Cod is generally a friendly and welcoming vacation area. The sense of community on the Cape promotes a safe, respectful environment. However, like everywhere else, it is not entirely devoid of instances of street harassment, but they are relatively rare. During the high tourist season, there may be an increase in such incidents due to the influx of people, but they are generally not a pervasive or routine issue in the area. Do take the usual precautions as you would anywhere else, especially at night or in secluded areas.
Petty crimes:

Petty crimes:Low

Petty crimes in Cape Cod are relatively low compared to other regions. The area is generally safe and secure, though small incidents like pickpocketing or car break-ins can occasionally occur especially in tourist spots. It is important to stay alert, but overall, the risk is not particularly high.

Is Cape Cod worth visiting?

Group travel

I’ve been living here for 2 month as a tourist and worker. It’s safe at day and night here. But lots of places didn’t set up the light, be careful when walking or biking at night! I recommend provide town and Hyannis to travel to! Also National see shoe is a must go!
