How safe is Burlington for female travelers?

Solo travel

Burlington was such a wonderful town to visit. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Businesses had great service with seemingly happy employees. Church street was so cute and I had to restrain myself from spending all of my money there! I went to an EDM show at the Metronome and had an absolute blast! I discovered some caves that you can only access by crossing a frozen lake! So many adventure possibilities. I cannot wait to go back!

How safe is Burlington for women?

I think there are many completely safe areas and will often take my young siblings out with me by myself. There are few areas I’d avoid. I often bike through the city by myself and I don’t feel threatened at all

The general public is very friendly, accommodating and safe. We have had a rise in homeless population and drug use, lending to bike thefts. I would recommend staying in public areas at night, and walking in pairs if possible. Overall, its a very safe city. The drug use and mental illness in the homeless population is the only negative, but thats typical for any city.
