I've lived in Plymouth for more than 2yrs now as an international student but I have never faced any issue related to safety at all. I walked home after my night shift and nothing ever happened to me. You will see some homeless people near the city centre and all but seriously no one has ever harmed me or anything.

I've never had any issues and I've lived here all my life. I often get the late public transport and have had nights out and I've never had issues. it's like most other smaller city's there is a few cases of crime here and there but overall it's okay

Plymouth is a safe city - use your common sense about where to go alone, especially after dark, and you’ll have a great time. There are safe places to visit day and night, safety patrols in central areas in case of emergency. People are friendly and helpful. Good transport systems; buses, trains, taxis.

I've lived here many a year, as a teenager and as an adult. I've seen the occasional fight but never witnessed a stabbing or anything. I personally have never had anything more threatening happen than being cat-called.
