Is Leeds Safe for Solo Female Travelers?

Stayed in the city centre area, so everything is just convenient! Felt safe 100%! Was walking back to my hotel at about 2am and the streets were silent but the city lights were still on, I guess that the choice of hostel/hotel in the city centre helped with that :) You can go anywhere by just walking, they have a lot of stores, so I was mainly shopping for myself + souvenirs :)

As a girl who works late, I have never felt unsafe travelling back home. I’ve lived in Hyde Park for over 2 years and honestly it’s the best place to live as a student and a professional. Leeds is a student city

Leeds is pretty safe but I would never walk through Hyde Park at night! Walking along the Otley Road is generally well-lit and busy, particularly on Saturdays during the Otley Run, but avoid dark streets

That can help you feel more secure walking around, especially at night.

It’s much safer than London which is more famous. Every city has areas that you should avoid after dark but it’s fantastic otherwise. Just be careful in the city centre on a Friday night and follow the usual safety tips for going out to drink

It is quite safe. Never had trouble travelling late at night or anything such. It has been over 3 years and never encountered danger. Live in city centre. Even late at nights there is no worrying about anything.

Very safe for women in general. Hyde park area has some break ins and don’t walk through the Woodhouse Moor park at night. City is very well lit and safe and public transport is regular and feels safe.
