Dundee is an interesting place. I would say it’s safe for any white straight passing woman, even when you travel alone after dark. Mostly it’s teens that are more terrifying and might randomly shout at you. For Non-white women or Queer community , things can be different. People are a-bit at the polar opposite, either very welcoming or very non-welcoming. But 95% of them are at the left wing side I would say.
Posted: August 9, 2025Dundee is a very small city with little crime. Although some area’s can be rough they tend to have quarrels between themselves and not with strangers. Very beautiful river and promenade where you’ll find lovely people. The Scottish are very smiley and nice so always feel free to have a chat with them!

It is quite safe in general, but it's good to be cautious after dark! Dundonians are quite friendly and willing to help at all times, giving you a nice sense of security. If you feel unsafe at any time CONTACT EMERGENCY SERVICES, they are quite quick to respond as well:)
Posted: April 21, 2025I am fairly new to the city of Dundee so I can’t say for sure but I would just take all normal precautions. Protect your phone and don’t put it in your back pocket when walking anywhere in the United Kingdom

Dundee is a very safe city located as a gateway to the Scottish highlands. Historically it has had mostly drug related issues but this has improved tremendously in the past years. It is small but has everything you need and safety!
