I spent a day in Tangier as a school trip, here's my overall opinion: I mainly liked Hercules cave, I think it's a great space to go around and discover a little bit about culture. We went to their mall afterwards but I wouldn't recommend, the food wasn't very great but not too bad. Medina Qdima was also very pretty, I liked how full and lively it was. The view were also incredible, the beaches, the green space..etc. I highly recommend going there
Posted: April 20, 2025Experienced: March, 2025We stayed in the medina close to the kashba museum. Even if it was a bit overwhelming at first (we also arrived on Eid day), in general we felt soon quite safe and we learned quite quickly to move around the medina. We only had a bit of an unpleasant experience with a indrive taxi but all was ok in the end.

Tangier is a smaller city in nothern Morocco, and i traveled solo off season in April 2024. Overall i met the nicest people ever there but also had to experience some harassment. I recommend to not walk around alone unless its city center, because cars will stop and honk at you (no matter what you dress like). I recommend using Taxi Apps because public transport is not that reliable. Food is amazing and cheap!

As a local I can say tangier is decently safe, but that doesn’t mean that it really safe, like any city in the world there’s good and bad, personally I have never got robbed or sexually assaulted, but I did get catcalled multiple times and it get annoying sometimes.
Posted: December 25, 2024Tangier is pretty safe I would say and pretty much all of the northern area around the country . I've never really had a bad experience living and travelling around the city as a girl . The people are pretty warm and helpful as well .

I’m a Brazilian living in Portugal who loves to travel to experience new cultures, explore local markets, walk through historic cities, and get lost in museums. I’m open to company during my travels, whether for sightseeing, cultural activities, or even just having a coffee and sharing stories.
