based on 3 experiences from female travelers
We were 4 girls, including 2 blondes. We dressed casually and did get approached, but nothing too intrusive. Life in Agadir is vibrant after 10 PM. It's worth going to the port for seafood. It's safe and beautiful there.
Posted: November 13, 2024I felt super safe in Agadir, but I was visiting a local friend there, so I spent most of my time with a local. Probably it would be harder for me alone, but mainly because of the language barrier; the city itself is much more pleasant than Marrakech, in my opinion. Although my friend insisted that I shouldn't wear a camera around my neck.
Posted: December 11, 2023I went to Agadir, which was a nice place to spend a few days. I didn't feel it would be appropriate to go to the sea in a bikini, as none of the local women were doing that, so I used a shirt with a so-called rash vest and shorts. In Morocco, it is a personal decision whether to cover up or not, and I do not have the right to overstep boundaries in someone else's country. It is always safer to assimilate.
Posted: January 12, 2023Agadir, in my opinion is a safe city for a girl to explore, of course there’s some areas that are a little risky, but those are obvious to any visitor (they’re generally empty of people and avoided by the public) there are some shameless attempts at catcalling thrown at me every once in a while but they rarely if ever develop into something serious. Public transportation may seem scary at first but it’s very safe, in my experience, if somebody tries to pickpocket or something like that, he’s quickly noticed and stopped by the public. But late night walks may seem risky in certain places but if you stick to main streets you have nothing to fear( just beware of passing cars, some people get very stupid and try to convince you to go for a ride)

Depending on the area you are visiting, safety measures will vary. In the touristic area, it is very safe for women to walk alone during the day or at night, but there are a few old residential areas around the city that i wouldn’t recommend you go to on your own, especially at night.

I’m Houda, 20, a college student with dreams of becoming a flight attendant by 21 to explore the world. I love swimming at the beach, riding bikes with friends, and playing Frisbee. I enjoy cooking, especially trying new recipes like carbonara, and I’m excited to try sushi and tiramisu. I’m into games, especially UNO and Karta, and I’m always up for adding new rules for fun. I’m a planner but can also be spontaneous when it matters less. I value honesty in relationships but sometimes struggle with self-confidence. I like to seek advice from the people I trust before making decisions.
