It is completely safe. We had only one kind of a fight on the street but it was also a misunderstanding during the local music festival. Honestly in Veszprem there is not a big night life. Maybe on Friday u can find people on the street but that is all:D

Veszprém is a cultural capital of Hungary. Lived here for two years, I can say that the city has earned this status. In two years I never felt unsafe, even when returning alone late at night. Veszprém is a university town, there are many students and young people in general. Almost all the young people here speak English and are always happy to help. The older generation speaks German.
