Is Budapest Safe for Solo Female Travelers?

Budapest generally offers a safe environment for solo female travelers. Traditional tourist areas are well-policed and have excellent public transportation options, including reputable taxi services. Solo travel

Budapest is the most beautiful city I’ve ever seen. There is so much to see. The people are very frendly. You have to try the food there, it’s so delicious. It’s very important that you see Budapest at night. The whole city is shining.

It's a place safe but the vibe of the city is strange and the fine for don't have the ticket train is expensive so better get one before you get on. Also the disco there are so good because all the discos have diferent floors with different music.

Family travel

We come to Budapest every year to visit family ☀️☀️☀️ This city is wonderful, there are many activities to partake in and museums to visit 🖼 The cultural history is very present as well, especially during the "mesterségek ünnepe", where you can witness handcrafted exhibitions of Hungary’s identity 💗 I absolutely adore the architecture that is fun, colourful and elegant 🍒 Although vegan 🌱 and vegetarian food aren’t really staples in Hungarian cuisine, Budapest is a place where you can be...

Very pretty city. Even tho i was there with my bf i would feel safe also alone. Strudels are really delicious here 😋. Everything is near and night life is living indeed but finding free restaurant for dinner is a challenge😵‍💫

I went to bars and parties a lot in Budapest and as I lived on the buda side, i had to walk a lot at night. I never felt unsafe even in the public transportation no matter what I was wearing :).

Usually it is safe, there are a few places where you can find weird and scary people, but most of the places are good. public transportation is also very safe, use BudapestGo it helps at day and night which bus takes you quicker to home.

Blaha is bit dangerous as it’s filled with homeless people. Be careful around there. Overall Budapest is very safe place. Small villages are also safe and beautiful. I have been living here for one year I didn’t have any problems yet, related to the safety

I am lived here for approximately 5 years now and maybe it was 2 times when I felt unsafe. Both times are men were threatening me but if u avoid Kőbánya and Blaha Lujza tér (only at night) than u gonna be fine! Other than that 2 cases everything is always okay!

About me

I'm an idealist and can get interested in almost anything. I spent 6 summers working in American summer camps, so the US is kind of a second home for me. I'm a bookworm, I always have (at least) a book with me, and I also love swimming and hiking. My new passion is Formula 1 and cars in general apparently. I'd like to try as much things as possible, because we have just one life and we should live according to that. If we miss a chance to do something, it might never come back, and we will regret it for a life. When I was like 8 or 9, I had the chance to try a hang-glider (I'm not sure this is the right word, but the dictionary says it is), but I was to scared. That's one of my biggest regrets, so now I try out everything even if it's scary or even if I don't feel like trying it at that moment. (UPDATE: I went to ride a hang-glider last year, so it is no longer a regret as I learnt from the experience. :) )
