Turku is a very safe place, in 3 years that I had been here I had never experienced sexual harassment, or any kind of violence. I can walk at night without any worries, or take a taxi and I feel safe all the time.

As a university city Turku is filled with young people who take women's safety seriously. If you are ever worried about your safety, seek out a young adult and they are sure to help you! If you see people in colorful overall full of patches, they are uni students on their night out and the safest crowd. :)
