Turku is moderately safe, I live here so I know a bit. during the day and night there is a lot of drunk people and some of them may say stuff to you. I've been catcalled a bunch of times and on busses it's common that men do sexual hand movements and such. never been groped or robbed or anything. but overall Turku is not the place to be, it's called finlands asshole for a reason.

About Me

Hi there! I'm Nina, and I've been living in the south side of Chicago for over ten years! When I'm not plotting my next adventure, I'm hanging out with my black lab mix Dracula, crafting small leather goods like wallets and keychains, or going to concerts! Despite my eagerness to travel and go go go, I love watching movies and binging tv shows on the couch with my pup. I was born and raised in St. Louis, MO and when I took my first trip to Chicago in 2010, I got an overwhelming feeling of joy for experiencing new places! Since then, I've been to about half of the US states, Niagara falls in Canada, Cancun & Cozumel in Mexico. Most recently, I was able to spend some time in Scandinavia visiting Copenhagen, Stockholm, Bergen, Molde, and Oslo. In May I'll be going to Lisbon, Portugal for a week to see my favorite band KGLW and then in August they have their first US music fest in Colorado I'll be attending! I got the travel bug hard and I'm currently trying to plan a return to Scandinavia with stops in Tallin, Estonia and Turku, Finland for December! In April 2026 I have a trip planned with EF Ultimate break to go to Thailand, and I'm looking to extend and stay in Bali, or Laos!
