Savonlinna is very peaceful city, i feel really safe in here. I would recommend people to visit Savonlinna in summer. In winter there's pretty much nothing to do, but visit the old castle "Olavinlinna". Locals are mainly old people. In my opinion young people in Savonlinna, are quite good with understanding English and speaking it to some degree.
