Espoo is overall a very safe city, as most cities in Finland. I would be careful at night time near train stations. It is very rare that a random person would attack you without any reason. At day time there are no unsafe places.
Posted: July 23, 2026Very safe. You can walk around freely at night anywhere in Finland. Espoo is peaceful and has less night life and action. In Helsinki there is just one park where you shouldn’t go in the night and that’s all.
Posted: February 28, 2026Espoo is pretty safe city. Public transportation works and is safe. There are some drunken people at night around bars and pubs, like in any other city. I feel safe to walk in forests, parks, streets etc
Posted: May 19, 2025Relatively safe, most popular areas are typically safe, as well as well connected. You might sometimes encounter people who may seem sketchy at first glance late at night but they're rarely actually an issue

As a Finnish city Espoo is extremely safe overall as the Finnish culture is based on trust and people are friendly with each other. I don't worry about my stuff being stolen or being attacked. Naturally there is some sexual harassment especially late at night at some clubs or such, but compared to my experiences in other European cities, there is less harassment here in Espoo.
Posted: March 9, 2025During my 5 years living in Espoo, I’ve never felt unsafe. At most I’ve encountered drunk people who might act lout but in the end they don’t usually pose any real threat. Of course, me not experiencing anything unsafe doesn’t mean Espoo is perfectly safe but generally speaking it’s safe both for locals and travelers.

Hi! I’m a 21-year-old girl from Finland who loves travelling, fashion, beauty, exploring new places and trying new things. ✈️💗 I’m a creative person who loves sewing, shopping, cute cafés, taking pictures and finding hidden gems in new cities. I also have two rabbits, plants and cozy little places. I’m looking to meet other girls to travel with, explore cities, grab food or drinks, go shopping, take photos and just have fun together! I’m pretty easygoing and always down for an adventure 🫶🏼 I dont drink or use drugs also. Would love to make some new friends from different countries and create some good memories together! 🌍✨

I am a social person and interested in other cultures and languages. I work as a psychologist with immigrants. I like reading books, studying different languages and traveling to new places. I have 2 cats and love animals in general. Last year I had a project of improving my turkish and trying to make it fluent. My goal is to be able to work in turkish at my current job. To reach this goal I did a 3 week volunteering on a farm in a small village in Istanbul as a workawayer. I had another 5 week trip to Turkey where I did a 2 week workawayer volunteering in Osmaniye and was backpacking 3 weeks (Izmir, Efesos, Samos, Istanbul, Adana, Mersin, Tarsus, Gaziantep). Now I’m planning a 3 week trip to Turkey only backpacking in cities: Adana, Hatay, Şanliurfa, Gaziantep, Mardin, Diyarbakır. After my turkish language project I’m planning on volunteering in other countries as well as a workawayer 😊☀️
