Of course, different districts have different levels of safety, but overall it is a very safe environment to be in. It's really peaceful and people usually just mind their own business. The city center is maybe the only place I would feel less safe after sunset, but even then, if you got out, there's like one main street for it, and it's usually just student, or young people, no one creepy. And on crowded nights, there's police in the streets, so it's really reassuring.

Trois-Rivières is generally safe for the most part. There is a lot of homelessness and drug problems in downtown, which is very apparent in Des Forges street and around. In the day it isn’t too stressful because there are a lot of people around and restaurants. I enjoy walking in the evening when it is darker, but it is definitely more stressful and you have to be more careful when you are alone. I haven’t had anything big happen to me, but I do get intercepted getting asked for money and cigarettes or men just trying to talk to me, I sometimes pretend I don’t hear them or say no thanks and quickly move along.
