How safe is Saskatoon?

Safety at night:

Safety at night:Safe

Saskatoon is generally considered a safe city, especially for solo female travelers. Like any urban area, Saskatoon has areas of higher and lower safety, but crime tends to be localized. It's always advisable to be aware of your surroundings and walk purposefully, especially at night. Try to stick to well-lit, busy streets whenever possible. Although Saskatoon takes safety seriously and has a noticeable police presence, it's always better to err on the side of caution when traveling alone at night.
Public transportation:

Public transportation:Safe

Public transportation in Saskatoon is quite trustworthy. The bus services are reliable and a common mode of transport for locals as well as tourists. The drivers and the public are generally friendly and willing to help, providing an overall secure environment. However, late-night services tend to be less frequent and certain areas might not be covered, hence, planning your commute well would be beneficial.
Street harassment:

Street harassment:Low

Saskatoon generally has a friendly and warm populace. Street harassment is rarely brought up as a major issue. Nevertheless, as in any city, it's always advisable to stay alert, especially when walking alone at night. While some people may have experienced situations of discomfort, these cases do not appear to represent the general trend in Saskatoon.
Petty crimes:

Petty crimes:Low

Saskatoon generally has low risks of petty crimes like pickpocketing or purse-snatching. However, like any city, it is always advisable to remain vigilant particularly in crowded places and late at night. The community is typically safe and organized, hence the crime rate often remains low, though fluctuates slightly over time.

Is Saskatoon worth visiting?

Is Saskatoon safe for women?

East side and university and downtown are all safe. The west side is a bit sketchy so if you ever park on the west side, don’t leave anything on it. Most of the fun things are on the other side of the town( the safe side ) so make sure you go there. Just don’t come to the west side. I have never had an issue in downtown, university of Saskatchewan area and other areas on the east side.
