There has been a slight rise in homelessness and drug use within our city, but that's about as bad as crime gets here. Honestly, I've heard maybe two stories of major crimes happening here. Downtown is probably the only sketchy part of town, but that's only at night. During the day, I feel perfectly safe walking around alone and exploring the many quaint businesses that thrive there!

Very quiet town. Lots of retired farmers and families. Everyone will say hi walking or driving past. Very friendly people. Mindset yes definitely sheltered but there’s more diversity last few years and the younger generations are more aware of other people and cultures. Cute stop to see the giant teepee or picnic at Echodale park!

Having lived him Medicine Hat my entire life, I’d consider it an incredibly safe city! It is home to mostly younger families, and elderly residents. The downtown area does struggle with some homelessness but it is still incredibly safe and Id only be slightly worried at night
