Jonquière is very calm and safe. Traveling by car or public transportation poses no problems and is completely secure. Walking is possible, though distances can be a bit longer, but there is no significant danger. The downtown area of the neighboring city (Chicoutimi) is slightly busier, but it is still a pleasant and frequented environment with no major safety concerns.
