Overall it's a fairly servant town that has a little bit of teenage Hooligans who might drive a bit too fast a little bit of drug problems near the city hall area. Overall I think that Ajax is extremely safe I've never felt threatened or really had any major problems during the day. I think as you get closer to Oshawa there are more problems

Plain suburban town, although some thefts and petty crime recently. Lock your doors, close your windows and everything should be fine. People are friendly but the south side can be a bit busy, especially with homeless and panhandling

Ajax is a growing community that is relatively safe. There is a growing homeless community in the downtown streets. In order to stay safe, normal precautions should be taken such as letting people know where you are and staying in well lit areas at night.
