About me

Welcoming or being hosted by a local person is a wonderful way to travel. As a women, I think that we enrich each other by opening the door to our homes. I am a feminist, open-minded and socially engaged women, who loves traveling around the world. Travelling is about connexion for me and I am always grateful to welcome travellers or being welcomed by a host. I live on the Orleans Island, Quebec. I also own a small appartment downtown Quebec City, where I stay part-time. I have two wonderful kids that are now adults and who love to travel too.

About me

☀️ I love wild nature, hikes, animals, seeing new things, discovering new cultures and learning new languages. I´m still young and I don’t have a lot of solo travel experiences yet, but I want to get started! I have travelled all my life with my family and now it’s time for me to start discovering the world by myself. I’m in Quebec City, I speak French, English and I’m learning Spanish. The next one on the list is Italian! Where’s the best place to travel backpack with no precise plan? Where’s the best place to be one with nature and wild life?

About me

Hi, I’m Jeanne! I’m a 20 years old artist, from Quebec province, who would love to travel the world. I’ve done a lot of backpacking trips or road trips in the last few years, but my next destination is New Orleans, Louisiana! This time I’m not going to travel alone, but with three girl friends of mine, that randomly got together for this trip. We’re looking for places to stay in New Orleans, or on the way. We are a going there by car, starting from Sherbrooke, Québec, Canada. These are the states that we plan on passing through: Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York State, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana. I look forward to meeting you!

Solo travel

Québec was very nice little city ! I felt very safe and people were very kind. Accommodation : I stayed at youth hotel Qbeds. Which was good for a first time because you have curtains around your bed and the atmosphere is very cool. If you like silence maybe it is not the best place to sleep on the Friday and Saturday cause there will be parties. Visits: I booked a ticket to have a guided visit of Frontenac castle follow by a brunch to the castle restaurant. By the way the brunch is amazing. I did a cruise until Orleans island and waterfalls of Montmorency. It was beautiful. Good restaurants seem to be a bit expensives but I ate well!

I felt extremely safe. The areas are generally crowded but it’s filled with people having a good time. The food is absolutely amazing. There’s a lot of culture, I recommend the castle tour. Try any restaurant that serves game (I.e. rabbit, venison etc) I drove but it was easy getting by just walking. Parking is safe. Things are a bit more expensive. I didn’t stay in Quebec City but about 30 minutes away.
