Very very safe ♡ There is no need to worry even when you go out in the middle of the night, wearing shorts, holding a wallet and a phone in your hands. Taipei is quite a lively place, there will still be people hanging out with friends at night markets, restaurants and KTVs late at night, so you won’t feel that much alone. For emergencies, just go to a convenience store and ask for help, they’re everywhere, provide tons of services and they open 24/7. From my personal experience, thefts and crimes are not very common. For instance, in cafes, I can simply leave all of my stuff on a seat before buying my coffee at the counter, and when I come back, they will still be there untouched. Plus, Taiwanese people are usually extra friendly to foreigners, so I believe you’ll have a great time. :)

Taiwan is one of the safest countries in the world! Tainan is the oldest city of Taiwan, located in the south of the island. The people here are extremely friendly and down-to-earth. Seriously, the only thing dangerous here is probably the messy traffic because everyone sucks at driving.
Posted: January 13, 2025It is very safe; people are kind and willing to help. It is a highly developed country in terms of human rights. I always walk alone late at night in the Taipei city center, and I have never felt in danger.
Posted: December 28, 2024It’s very very safe, we often go clubbing and walk home at 3am drunk, yet I’d still arrive home just fine. I’d also forget to lock my doors when I go to work sometimes, and I’d come home and everything is exactly the same as when I left in the morning
Posted: December 25, 2024Very peaceful and beautiful town. Locals are always welcoming and courteous to lady foreigners. They have their certain stereotypes but being an Indian, I have enjoyed their hospitality. The town is safe to walk around, even in night. The public transport where I live is not so frequent, but I can take taxi to High Speed Train Station / Subway nearby to go other places.

In Taiwan ,people are friendly and hospitable. Taiwaneses are kind to tourists ,very willing to help them solve problems.Besides, don’t worry about being stolen or be robbed. At night, you can also go out to buy somethings or eating,no body will bother you!
Posted: December 19, 2024Taichung is a safe city. When you go to a coffee shop, you can just leave your bag or cell phone on your seat and just go to counter to order. If you leave your laptop on your seat and go to toilet, that is also fine. Basically you don’t need to worry about stolen or being robbed. The safety of this city is pretty good.

If you drop something on public place, most of the time, you can get it back. People are friendly to offer help, even though you don’t know the local language, they tried their best to communicate with you
Posted: October 30, 2024When I walk on the road alone at night, I've never had any experience that strangers talked to me or looked at me all the time, sometimes if you forgot to take your key on the scooter, when you finished shopping and go back to your scooter, the key was still there, people even helped you to put your key in the helmet or leave a note.

A peaceful and pleasant small town where public transportation isn’t particularly convenient but still manageable. Prices are relatively high for a rural area, and the people are very friendly, though there’s room for improvement in terms of following traffic rules. It connects to Taiwan’s beautiful Sun Moon Lake and Cingjing Farm, and you can even extend your trip all the way to Hualien and Taitung by self-driving. Choose a nice weather day to come and explore!

I felt really safe in Taipei, the weather was nice, and the food was delicious. I stayed at WoW Hostel in Ximending, it was cheap and the beds were good, with curtains and a lockers. It was sometimes a bit noisy but it is normal is this neither, I didn't mind. Staff was friendly too. Taipei is really great for museums and culture ! I loved it
