We went there to visit Jiufen, that town famous for the Spirited Away alike look. Jiufen was fascinating as expected. And street food in Taiwan is really good, they cook real quick and well at that minimalist kitchen on the street :D
Posted: March 29, 2026Taipei was so much fun, I was very young when I went there however the night markets were so much fun and food was so delicious. I travelled with family so we all stuck together, some things were a bit sketchy but as long as you stick to the brightly lit areas you’re fine.

I travelled to Taiwan, Taipeh with my friends and had the best time ever! The food was the best I had in a long time and for the price it was too good to be true. I felt so safe in Taipeh and never had any issues with feeling uncomfortable. But also around Taipeh I was so impressed by the nature. I highly recommend going there!!

I felt really safe in Taipei, the weather was nice, and the food was delicious. I stayed at WoW Hostel in Ximending, it was cheap and the beds were good, with curtains and a lockers. It was sometimes a bit noisy but it is normal is this neither, I didn't mind. Staff was friendly too. Taipei is really great for museums and culture ! I loved it
Posted: December 13, 2024Experienced: October, 2024I recommend staying in Taipei for a couple days! My biggest recommendation is tot ur Taiwanese breakfast! Fan Tuan is a breakfast food in Taiwan and it’s basically a rice ball with stuff in it. It’s super cheap at around 40 twd :)
Posted: October 2, 2024It is safe and lively, it has well organized and highly developed public transportations and infrastructure. People are friendly, so many fun activities can do. Food are tasty, weather is nice during the spring.
Posted: April 23, 2024Experienced: March, 2024I was in Taipei for 3 days. The weather was a bit gloomy during Chinese New Year. We move around with MRT, bus and local train. The service is top notch. On time, cheap and clean. Food is average for me. It's People are polite and helpful if you try to communicate effectively. Taipei is the most safest city especially for solo female traveller. You can walk the street without so much worries. Accept the scooters. They are a bit reckless. I went with a group but will do it solo next time.
Posted: March 31, 2024Experienced: January, 2024Very safe city, clean, easy to get around, people are very friendly. Amazing food (nightmarkets!), Elephant mountain for great views of Taipei 101, Yangmingshan sunset and night views. Beitou hot springs, Tamsui, and daytrip to Jiufen and Pingxi are worthwhile

you can wander the streets at 2am alone and there is cctv everywhere, plus most people would help if anything goes awry. people leave their phones and wallets on the table when they go to the bathroom.

Very safe💖welcome! You can walk around even late at night without worrying too much, and there are always shops open 24/7, so it’s really convenient. The city feels quite lively even at midnight, which makes it a great place to explore anytime.

Posted: November 6, 2025I spent 4 days solo travelling in Taipei and felt very safe walking around alone. Public transport is very easy to navigate and the people here are friendly and helpful. I was looking to buy tea (a specific brand for a friend) they suggested some stores where I could go and even showed me different teas to even try. Totally loved the experience here and I would definitely return to explore more.

Hi, I’m Jody from Taiwan🇹🇼! I often travel around the world. I love exploring natural landscapes, experiencing local cultures, and most importantly, making friends from all over the world!🫧 I recently started learning Japanese because I’ve met so many lovely Japanese people who made me fall in love with Japan, and I want to be able to communicate with them in Japanese. I also really enjoy photography, and in Taiwan, I sometimes take on travel photography gigs. If you like taking photos too, we can go shoot together! This June, I’ll be moving to the UK to start my studies there!

After working for 15 years, I am now focusing on LIVING. Some people call it sabbatical, but I’m not sure if that’s the correct term 🤷🏾♀️ Daily meditation, you would find me in nature much more than in the city now. But I definitely come with built-in recommendation for traveling in Taiwan :)
