Is Guanajuato City safe for solo female travelers?

This was my 2nd trip to Guanajuato. This time we took the tour to the famous attractions. We got to visit the museum of mummies again. But this time we got to go the mirador that looks over the city and check out some other museums. It was a fun experience. Sadly the hotel we stayed at was not it.

It is a touristic city, so in the city center there are usually plenty of people, and police officers walking by from time to time. Avoid dark alleys and zones too far from the center too late at night as people are concerned about getting robbed. Aside from that, it is a pretty safe city, and the government takes measures because the city is touristy. Nearby cities in Guanajato are not as safe as the capital

Unfortunately Guanajuato it is a place where the insecurity is part of the daily life, but I try my best to keep me safe, the place where I live has security cameras, a guard, an alarm and the neighbors are always aware if something happen. In downtown the streets feel pretty safe for me, but I am watching my stuff or aware if someone comes behind me, I am mexican so I am used to always be careful when I walk on the streets, and even with the high rate of violence I have never experienced...
