It is very safe , it’s the safest state in Mexico there is police patrolling everywhere also at night , security cameras in the city , as any place in the world there are safest places than others , avoid walking alone at night. Here it’s not typical to hear about violence or hate crimes but maybe robbing it’s more common if you are not aware of your belongings
Posted: January 6, 2025Merida is probably the safest city in Mexico, very quiet and clean, if you are looking for parties this is not the place, the nightlife is kind of boring, I recommend to visit Merida in winter otherwise is gonna be very hot
Posted: January 4, 2025Merida is one of the safest cities in Mexico, people’s culture here is amaizing, heartwarming and kind. However, like every other big city, and specifically the past couple of year because of the growth, there are zones were I wouldn’t want to walk alone. I think being careful is the key, the level of awareness you should have, depends on the level of danger around, lucky me, Merida is safe enough that I never experienced anything that dangerous to make me stop loving it.

Is the safest city in Mexico, the police is everywhere, they are very respectful and nice. The North area is the safest in the city, it is very walkable and secure. Public transportation and Uber are really secure, I have always transported with Uber for 5 years, I haven’t had any dangerous or uncomfortable experience.
Posted: July 9, 2024Mérida is the second safe city in all America Continent, and the first safe city in Latinoamérica for 2024. Is a very safe but warm city, there is a lot to do around and in the city. The nearest beach is around 35 min driving and the cenotes in around 1 hr driving.
Posted: June 22, 2024Merida is reported as the safest city in Mexico and coming from Germany (which is usually pretty safe), merida really felt like home. Of course, you shouldn’t stay out at night by yourself and rather take an Uber than walking but when you have some sense of your surroundings you will probably feel safe. The city and people are really friendly and food is amazing.

There's one of my favorite writers who said we all should treat well each other. I do my best to live that way. I love to meet new people and make new friends. If you're in my city and need an advice or just company, feel free to let me know. ^^
