Pretty much safe in my experience, I have walked alone at 12, 1, 2, 3 AM (for short distances, after being dropped off like 200m away from my place). I've never experienced any problems with public transport as well.
Posted: July 13, 2025Bangalore has felt safer for women as compared to other cities. It has good public transport system and helpful people mostly. It has specific airport cabs for women which are driven by women as well and travelling alone in Bangalore has been a delightful experience. The traffic is extreme though.

It’s okay, a lot better than other Indian cities. But I have been groped and leered at a lot. If you’re a woman out there, you will get stared at and it’s really uncomfortable. I feel like I’m constantly vigilant, but also feel so low because I feel intensely objectified
Posted: July 8, 2025Past 24 yrs im in Bangalore it's quite safe if be careful while going around It's pretty much good place and there are gud ppl around and also ppl help u out while in need , being familiar with the city is pretty much a plus .
Posted: July 6, 2025Uhmm bangalore overall feels safe as its truly the most western any Indian city has gotten, and I love it, the men here are mostly educated so they dont oggle you like you are a pot of honey which in other parts of India is pretty common.
Posted: June 21, 2025I hardly step out after dark, but India overall is not very safe for women. Men stare a lot and even if nothing happens you'll feel very uncomfortable. I've been touched inappropriately many times, stared at constantly. Stay alert and don't put yourself in risky situations. Use cab apps to book travel. Up untill dark public transportation is safe, after that be very cautious and try to stick to AC buses, metros, taxis to be more safe. Shout or make noise when you feel unsafe and draw attention to yourself.
Posted: June 17, 2025Actually, India is not the safest space especially for girls. - Because of the culture it is not so common for a girl to wear a short dress (don’t open shoulders and knees) - Also, it has awful traffic and it is dangerous to cross the road sometimes so do it carefully - The food is spicy so take some pills with you if you don’t used to spicy food
