Definitely one of the safer cities in India. Fast growing population and thus the neighborhoods are constantly changing and improving. Gujarat is a dry state so no worry about the drunks. Lot of students migrate here for higher education and there is a safe and lively environment at night.

Hi, - Ahmedabad is a dry city as it comes under dry stare Gujarat. - I move around near my house at night 12am as well. - By car we go around city at 1am to 3am as well once in a while and I feel safe in car. However, everyone should be alert for sure and take care of themselves. - People in ahmedabad are decent. - However, dress appropriately at public places because people can stare. - People are modern here and dress stylish at some good restaurants and high end places.
