I would say pretty or relatively safe, i've always been cautious tho. There are areas that feel more sketchy but out in the public can be just as dangerous. I have walked alone at night a number of times, and haven't had any bad experiences.

I think Budapest is a very safe city, you can feel safe even when walking alone at night but of course there are some areas that would be better to avoid. Regarding the public transportation, it works very well
Posted: July 13, 2025pretty safe!! only students who drink too much sometimes can become aggressive, but that’s still better than in Western Europe or Russia from where i come from. Overall I would rate safety as 8/10 for women
Posted: July 2, 2025There are some pretty interesting people here, but you have to get to know them, it's not just people who can be a problem. There are also wild boars, deer, and bears when they come into the yard or on the street.
Posted: June 30, 2025Budapest is pretty safe city. There are a lot of homeless people and beggars, but they are not dangerous. I’ve been living in Budapest for 3 years and I’ve never had an accident on the street. However, always stay conscious and keep an eye on your belongings. Better to stay around city centre, if you go outside, you would probably have a cultural schock, but nothing bad.
Posted: June 28, 2025Most of the districts are safe in Budapest. There are scarier areas like some parts of district 8 or 9 but overall I'd say it's actually okay. You just have to use your common sensd and then hopefully wo't get int danger.

You can survive on the food on festival It’s Just More expensive. - The people are very nice, but you should whach out form things in drinks and ask abut anything that someone tried to give you - the festival grounds are big, very big, take with you what you think you’ll need from the camp to the stages, and try to locate your camp in the most convenient spot for you 💖
