I would say the city centre is pretty safe. You can walk alone at night too without worrying about getting kidnapped/harmed. The suburbs are a different story, I wouldn't advise you to walk alone after the sun goes down. But overall I think the city is not dangerous.
Posted: March 19, 2025Almost good. The downtown is safe. There are only a few, not many intimidating figures. Some parts of the suburbs are not as good anymore. Here, you see more homeless and dubious characters. According to my girlfriend's words, I think it's quite accurate anyway.

Pecs is a really safe city, I have lived here my whole life, i’ve only had some drunk guys calling me out on the main street at night, but they also said sorry after i rejected them. On the outskirts there are some places where i would prefer going with someone, but in the inner city its really chill
Posted: January 27, 2025It is totally safe! It is fine for me walking home alone at 3am, and also the city is really tiny, quiet and peaceful. The only thing I may worry about is the homeless (sometimes they can be emotional and noisy), but there aren't that many of them and they don't pose a danger.
Posted: January 1, 2025I would say I'm a pretty paranoid person. I feel really comfortable walking around the city. Of course there's some suspicious people, but if you mind your business then people don't even talk to you.
