I've lived in Brno all my life and consider it a very safe city. Violent crime is rare, and even at night I feel comfortable walking or using public transport. Just be careful with pickpockets in busy spots.
Posted: June 19, 2025Brno is generally a pretty safe city. You can walk around most areas even at night without any big problems. That said, there are some homeless people who can be a bit drunk and annoying sometimes, they might try to talk to you or stop you. Also, there’s a part of the city where more Roma people live, and that area doesn’t feel very safe at night. They can be pretty loud and sometimes cross personal boundaries, so it’s better to just avoid that part after dark. But overall, Brno feels chill and safe almost everywhere else.

Not considering a few neighborhoods, like the main station or Cejl, it's very safe here. I often walk in the sleeping areas in the dark, still alive) there are many pubs in Brno, but even near them I don't feel threat to my life.

It depends on locality where you staying. Some parts of Brno are really nice and safe. Some other parts are more uncomfy to be there and sometimes a bit dangerous for lonely woman (like “Cejl” or “Štěpánská” street)
Posted: April 11, 2025I think Brno is one of the most safest city in Czech Republic. But we also have dark places.Fortunately I haven’t got much bad experience with some attack or theft. But to be sure I have pepper spray.I feel safe 8/10 here.
Posted: April 7, 2025As a student who is there every day, I would say, Brno is pretty safe for solo travellers. It has great public transportation, I don’t remember ever being assaulted. Though it has quite a lot of homeless people, they are pretty harmless

I felt very safe there are many activities. People's approach is nice. It is also close to many countries, which is a great advantage. I was able to go to Vienna, Germany and Lithuania with ease. I enjoyed every moment I lived here
