The only time I feel unsafe is when travelling alone after dark, but if you're with multiple girlfriends, or even one friend, you'll feel safe, or anyone any gender! I feel very safe using public transport, there is always a lot of people around in case something happens

Police is pretty much at every corner, very quick responsive time. At night a lot of people enjoy the city and are usually very helpful. In daytime you have absolutely nothing to worry about I feel very safe living in this city my whole life.
Posted: April 6, 2025Pilsen is a totaly safe place. I would still recommend to avoid Americká street in the night - it is the street with all the clubs and the night buses. People are usually very drunk and something could happen. People in Czech Republic are quite racist but they usually keep it to themselfs - unless drunk. It is very common to see drunk people in the streets during the day - but they are usually not harmful. In a moment of discomfort seek someone near - people care. Public transport is reliable and safe and so is the whole city.
Posted: February 17, 2025Definitely avoid wandering alone at night. Otherwise, it’s safe. There are many people from Ukraine, Bulgaria, and other Eastern countries here. If you see a group like that, it’s better to walk elsewhere. Pilsen is a very busy city, so you’ll always have someone around you.
Posted: January 29, 2025Pilsen is pretty safe in the day and when you don't talk with homeless or drugged people, but after dark it becomes pretty dangerous for a woman while she is alone. I would recommend to always walk in a group.

Nice to meet you! My name is Eva. I am an extrovert who loves to meet new people. Sometimes I am a mess, chaotic and little too loud for a Czech person. I consider myself an open-minded, exact, direct and honest person. I enjoy travelling and nature. Preferably combined! I study medicine, so my free time is quite misserable but I try to make the best of it. I would say I have travelled a lot for my age. I prefer longer stays in one country to get to know the place and its culture more deeply than just as tourist on a hop-on hop-off bus. I have never been outside of Europe though and I would love to change that!
