You need to take care with the drunks and the drug addicts. The city is super safe, but some areas like the Main Train Station can be dangerous at night. Even inside of pubs, you need to take care with men: they are usually drunk and aggressive, and czech people don't understand much about respecting women's boundaries.
Posted: March 17, 2025It’s multicultural and lots of friends from different parts of the world, ethnicities, races and genders have reported that they also feel safe here. It’s a university city so everything is pretty safe
Posted: March 5, 2025I would say Hradec Kralove is a pretty safe city. I've lived here my whole life and the only uncomfortable thing I ever experienced is cat calling and and weird men approaching me and talking to me, but it doesn't happen to me that often
Posted: January 10, 2025There happen to be weirdos, especially around areas such as shopping centres and train station, however, they don't usually interact with other people. When going out, I would consider thic city safe.

I live there as a student and never had anything strange happen to me. Although there are parts known to be a little bit scary after getting dark, because of the drunks. Bit other than that, very low crime level.

Usually everything is in order and safe, there will be individuals who make you as a woman feel unfomfortable everywhere unfortunately. But I personally walk very often alone, after dark and with headphones on and I do feel mostly safe here.

I am a student of philosophy in the Czech Republic. A lover of art, music and whimsical little things. I love me a long walk with no destination in mind. A sweet tooth and lover of wine and a good cheese.

I grew up in São Paulo, Brasil, where I lived almost all of my life. Almost 4 years ago I moved to Florianópolis, an island in the south of Brasil, to begin university and study International Relations. Now, I am currently living in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic, for a one year exchange program. I love slow travelling, meeting locals, knowing more than the touristic stuff and going to nature spots. I can't receive people where I live now because it is the dorms of my University, but you will have a place to stay in Brasil or wherever I am living after I move 💚
