I can walk alone at night in the centre and nothing happens, no one approaches me, ofc i try to be in the streets where there is a lot of people, but even if i’m in some back streets i still feel safe so i think that’s a good thing. Nothing bad has ever happened to me in Prague, except for some drunkies speaking to me every now and then.

Some parts of Prague are safe at night, some are dangerous even during the day. There are also large parks with no lighting that I wouldn't go into at night. On the other hand, way around the Vltava River, I wouldn't be afraid there even at night. It is lit, there are local restaurants in places and they tend to have beautiful decorations. I consider the center of Prague to be generally safe. It's lit up everywhere, you can see a homeless person sometimes, but they're mostly lying around and sleeping. The drunks are usually tourists.
Posted: February 16, 2025I think the Czech Republic is safe, but like in any country, there can always be some crazy person. I believe it’s mostly about being in the right place at the right time. Personally, I’ve never felt in danger, and I’ve been living in Prague for 22 years.
Posted: February 15, 2025Obviously sometimes bad things happen but nothing never happened to me so i would say be careful but not too much worried. In public take care of your purse and things that someone can take. And dont go out alone after 10pm or at least to some places. Maybe dont visit night clubs much if you dont want men trying to take you home or drug you.
Posted: February 13, 2025Feels safer than other european cities. preferably stay out of andel, palmovka, vysocany. Be careful at night because a lot of people smoke weed and can be unpredictable. But in generally Prague feels safe both day and night

Prague is really safe, when you don’t go to places known to drug addicts/junkees. Personally, nothing has ever happend to me accept some men catcalling me, but overall Prague is really safe, and well monitored by the police.
Posted: February 6, 2025very safe but it is a capital city - many drunk tourists in the city, especially at night not the best to walk alone as a woman but it also depends on the neighbourhood, overall you don't have to be worried

I live in Prague for 20 years and never had any problem while going outside in the dark. Nobody never stole me anything. But of course, Prague is the capital city and it's possible to feel a little bit uncomfortable when homeless people are drunk.

Prague is pretty much safe, no-one in broad daylight should bother you, usually everyone are trying to mind their own thing. For the "uncomfortable" part of Prague, i would say, it is pretty visible if you should or should not talk to someone. In meaning that in day its pretty safe city if you dont just go randomly talk to someone who clearly looks like you shouldnt try talking to. During the night i would say be more wary of your surrondings. Some people get drunk and they can catcall you. Ignore them, best action what you can do. Is just pass and pretend like they dont exist. However usually those experiences happen for pure SOLO travels. If you are in a group of people, it should not happen.
Posted: February 4, 2025Honestly, its very safe, the worst you will encounter are homeless begging for some money. I would avoid places called Florenc, Holešovice, Palmovka and the main train station when it gets dark, but again its mostly full of homeless and sadly drug addicts

I felt really safe in Prague. Even though it got dark very early, I enjoyed walking around the city alone in the evenings, even in the less touristy areas. It was super easy to get around using public transport. You just have to remember to stamp your ticket. (;
Posted: February 6, 2025Experienced: November, 2024Soo first things first. Food was good 👍🏻 - But I hab to admit since the famous Christmas market was open, it was very crowded - in the city center you could not even walk through properly. - For my shopping queens 👸 is it a nice destination; not too expensive - watch out for tourist traps - some restaurants in the city center will charge a lot and the food is not even as good. - So if you do your research before the trip, you will have a good and also cultural enriching experience in Prague. 😇

Hi, I live with my husband and 2dogs in Prague. Both of us are partially architects. I love reading, yoga and hiking and he is techie and love music (all about it). Often we travel together, and we agreed that journey isn't complete if we don't spend a time with locals.
