I think Prague is pretty much safe, of course there are places where you need to be careful. Also most parts of the city are crowded with people and tourists all the time so there is always someone around. So being alone in some dark, creepy street doesn’t happened very often.

in my opinion prague is a very safe city to walk during the day. at night there are only a few parts that i try to avoid.. the part where i live is very safe even at night. it’s safe in the public transportation as well. overall it’s a safe city and i wouldn’t be scared there as a solo traveling girl :)
Posted: January 15, 2025I have walked through late night Prague and nothing has ever happened to me even when drunk after clubbing. I had nothing ever happen to my friends as well. I think this is one of the safest cities in Europe.
Posted: January 12, 2025I feel safe living in Prague. I've been here for a long time, and the only incident I experienced was having my wallet stolen once. Overall, it’s a secure city with a good atmosphere. We have cameras and public lamps everywhere.

Prague is pretty much a safe city! I walked alone at night, tool public transportation and walked also in big crowds and still felt safe! I hear rare stories about stolen things or robberies but it's similar to any other city. But much much safer. However, you might encounter some racist behaviours from old folks for your looks or if you don't speak the language. Which is not an everyday encounter and nonexistent in touristic areas
Posted: January 7, 2025I consider Prague to be a very safe city for both living and travelling. No problem to walk and use public transport during the night. Cashless payment widely available. I suggest using Uber or Bolt taxi app rather than street taxi.
Posted: January 6, 2025Prague is overall a safe city for travelers, though pickpocketing can be an issue if you are in crowded tourist areas. Better be cautious in busy areas like Charles Bridge or Old Town Square as well as other crowded areas.
Posted: January 4, 2025There are lots of homeless people and sus people that you may not feel safe around especially alone in the dark. There are lit of tourists so you really need to keep an eye on your things. I wouldn’t travel here alone but it is way better when there are two of you.

Czech Republic, Prague included, is one of the safest places to travel to. I've been to many cities and I've rarely felt as safe as in the streets of Prague. You must, of course, follow common sense and avoid obviously dangerous situations or interactions, but even as a solo travelling woman you'll feel safe ❤️

I feel realy safe in Prague but I have to admit that I don’t go to bars or parties. I am not afraid to walk alone in most places in Prague. However, there are areas where I feel slightly uneasy. But since they are outside the city center, I don’t go there.

* overall i'd say i felt pretty safe in Prague, but i have to highlight that I went sightseeing mainly during the daytime. my friend who went out during the night had one unpleasant encounter with a creepy guy who tried to hit on her, but luckily this situation did not result in anything dangerous * we used public transport to get around the city and i'd rate it positively. it's accessible, easy to navigate with google maps, and most importantly, quite cheap (for me as a polish person) * TIP: watch out for the restaurants that only accept cash. in my experience, the signs are not always visible and euro exchange rate that was offered to us was not very favourable * as for sightseeing attractions, i visited the royal quarter, Hradčany. we bought tickets that included the entry pass to the castle, two beautiful churches and the Golden Lane. i can definitely recommend visiting * i was also in Franz Kafka Museum and this visit was a great experience. visual design of the museum is stunning and the text were really informative (one problem that i had is the fact that not everything was translated into English - some parts of text were written in German, but there were still plenty of information for English speakers). the place probably wouldn't be fun for someone who is not a fan of Kafka, but for people who are interested in his life or history of literature overall - a great attraction * the last thing i have to say about Prague is that it's a perfectly walkable city, ideal for strolling, both during the day and in the evening. the streets are just straight-up charming, and even though some streets we visited were kinda dirty, the city had a fantastic atmosphere and immaculate vibes 👌

I went to prague with 2 friends to see the christmas market. Its free so very Crowded and expensive (local restaurants not so expensive tho). Its a small city but if you have plenty things to do: see the Castel, try absinthery, hot wine, eat all the local stuff etc. You also have 2 Anonymous bar very Nice and different but you have to book earlier (at least a week). You can do everythingg walking. I felt very safe there. I never felt so cold in my whole life (-10°) so prepare yourself !!

Hi, I live with my husband and 2dogs in Prague. Both of us are partially architects. I love reading, yoga and hiking and he is techie and love music (all about it). Often we travel together, and we agreed that journey isn't complete if we don't spend a time with locals.
