generally speaking, i would say prague is one of the safest cities in europe, I dont really feel in danger living here, only at night do i feel a bit uncomfortable as a woman but ive never been assalted or harmed in any way. as long as you keep your wits about you and you dont put youself into sketchy situations, you’ll be completely ok, maybe keep an eye out for scams and pickpockets, those are the most common types of petty crime in the city
Posted: July 9, 2025I am living in Prague since 5 years, I am single so I do a lot of stuff alone including during the night time and i feel safe. Only need to be aware of you space like everywhere, there is some cat calling but mostly from tourists

i feel like prague is one of the safest places i've ever been to. of course you have to be careful at night but overall there is very low crime rate. there are hardly any kidnappings etc., max. some harassment of drunks or homeless people, but that's not common either:)

Prague is a relatively safe city for solo female travellers since Czechs are known for not socialising much with tourists and minding their own business. You might be encountered by homeless people especially in larger tourist areas but if you pay them no mind, they'll leave you alone. At night the city centre is well lit and there are many cameras around, the only thing you need to look out for are drunk people or big groups of, usually not Czech, men.

Prague and the whole Czech Republic is very safe, I think the same as also the countries around:) You can feel secure asking people for help, use public transport, enjoy a nightlife even to sleep outside at the countryside.

Prague is big city so the pickpocketing is I think really possible. There are lot of homeless problematic people. When you are traveling at night tram it may be uncomfortable with some weird people. But luckily there is always someone normal whos just coming back from party. Overall I think Prague is kind of safe but i wouldn’t push its limits. On some locations there are lot of drug addicts. Them and homeless people wont do anything. But just in case watch you back at evening.

I felt safe, nothing like harassment or robberies are common. You should be careful at crowded places though. You should go eat trdelník, visit Pražský hrad, Karlov bridge and go clubbing. I wouldn’t say the national cuisine is rather delicious, but apparently I wasn’t flabbergasted as I am Slavic. The public transport is great, you can have a ticket for subway, tram, bus all in one. It’s quick and comfortable as it is all over Europe. Easy to figure out which itinerary you need as there are boards with directions.

Prauge is fairly inexpensive when is comes to food costs, and me and my friend managed to find a hotel in central Prague for 200$ total for three nights for both of us. A must see-activity is the national museum in central Prague, where there’s historical motifs of the Second World War and artistic interpretations of Prague through out the time!
