It is generally safe. But there are always exeptions. Best advice would be travel in pair or a group, but you will mostly be safe if you follow all the general safety tips. As a girl Irving here all my life, there are always some creeps on the street, just try to ignore them and don't try to talk to them or anything similar.
Posted: January 1, 2025Split is small and safe - walking alone at night is the norm for most local women here. We dont have a problem with homeless people and you wont see drug use on the streets. Catcalling isn’t part of the culture (can unfortunately still in rare instances happen, I noticed particularly to Asian women), muggings and assault never happen especially not by locals to tourists. Just watch out for pickpockets in the old town and beaches. When going out in clubs keep in mind some tourists from other European countries use this as a party town and travel in big groups to get drunk for cheap

Split is the second-largest city in Croatia, and it is pretty safe. There are many attractions to visit during the day and night. Although the city is crowded in the summer, I never experienced or heard that someone was in a dangerous situation.

Split is a very safe city, women can go alone in the dark without worrying at all. There is no criminal here, no danger of being robbed, attacked or anything similar. You don't have to pay attention to your staff when you're outside and you don't have to worry about your safety.

Split is safe but in crouds be alert of scammers and pisckpockets. Accommodation is not the cheapest and also food. There were a lot of altivities and public transport was eazy and covered the whole area.

10€ shuttlebus from airport, nice cheap airbnb next to the famous bačvice beach, colorful and creative bars at night, old town is made of stone and has those neat backyard areas, prices are mostly fixed in shops
