How safe is Toronto?

I live in the heart of the city and it’s wonderfully safe. I work often into the night and I wouldn’t hesitate to walk home. There’s always so many people around and the few hiccups are just that. There are many sketchy looking people around but they generally keep to themselves.

Toronto is safer depending on which part of it you are in. Walking alone anywhere in the world is a little worrisome, but in Toronto, it's not that bad. There are just a lot of people who don't really seem to care and won't hurt you. I do recommend trying and having someone with you when walking long distances, and when navigating public transit, 2 brains are better than 1!

Toronto is generally safe! There is a problem of homelessness and drug use but as long as you’re minding your own business, you should be just fine. Most residential areas are super safe and some people still leave their doors open (even thought I wouldn’t). Just be alert no matter where you are, there are a lot of police or security-related individuals all around.

Toronto is a very safe place fun destination for anyone travelling solo or with a group and it’s definitely very safe for a woman I went to school in Toronto often I was by myself travelling late at night, but I never felt unsafe

I grew up in Toronto. It is quite safe. There are some pockets with drug users to avoid, but it’s pretty obvious when you see a sketchy area. Just stay in public spaces and you will be fine. Nothing terrible has happened

Toronto is very safe. In the dense city areas such as downtown Toronto, you may get the odd homeless person that may make you uncomfortable but just ignore them and go on about your day and you should be fine.

I feel like en masse, Toronto has been and generally is a safe place. There are spots to be more aware in like any city I think, but I mostly feel quite safe there. Keep your head up, music down, and location on.

Downtown is great and full of life! Always something to do, shops and bars are open, people in the streets. I enjoy being out, going on walks, and meeting new people. I feel safe and it is easy to get around.

Downtown Toronto can be a bit busy and tough but if you keep an eye out and are aware of your surroundings it’s overall not horrible. I walk alone often (including late at night) and do not engage with people who try to talk to me or are unwell. If you stay in crowded and busy areas it’s fairly safe.

Statistically speaking, Toronto is safe, no questions about it. As a woman, and especially as a solo traveler, we always need to be aware of our surroundings and who we share information with, regardless of location.

Solo travel

Toronto is chaotic. I did use the GO system that took me into Union station. From there you get shoved and pushed around, no one to ask for directions or how to connect to a train or bus. Decided to take Lyft for a bite to eat near where I was visiting - the driver was very nice and there was many food options

Solo travel

Toronto is the perfect city for travelling. I recommend stay near Harbour bay, there’re lots of Airbnb style hotel with good price. The food on Dundas street is incredible, and I really really like Hot hot rice noodle - the Crispy Pork rice noodle is amazing. Speaking of food, you can’t miss traditional Canadian food called poutine! And also I love Ice Wine sooooo much! Toronto is also a safe city, although you need be careful when you travel at late night in downtown. Otherwise it’s fine. I like Casa Roma, worthy of one-day visiting. CN tower is nice to visit, although I didn’t go to the very top of it (I remember it has different price for different level). I like Harbour bay too.
