Leuven is a student city with a very low crime rate, very very safe overall! I haven’t lived there for too long, but there is a large population of international students, so it feels diverse and inclusive as well!
Posted: July 11, 2025It's depends of the neighborhood. Sometimes I feel safer and other times i don't. The public transport are safe enough but sometimes I do not like how men are looking at me.

There are a lot of people in the city, most of them are very nice wich makes me feel safe. I could always als for help is I would feel unsafe. I have had some situations in wich I felt unsafe but you can mostly just ignore these people and walk away. Eventhou it isnt nice to experience something like that, you can ask for help to the people around you and there will always be someone to help. There are some places I wouldnt reccommend going (espacially at night). But if you avoid these places you will be safe.
Posted: July 7, 2025It depends on where you go and how you walk, as a hijabi who goes a lot in the north station at night its not that dangerous, thankfully I have never lived any harrassement or bad experiences like that
Posted: July 4, 2025Brussels can be a cool city but the things is that u must stay alert anyway. Be careful about how hold ur phone and also after dark u may be approached by some guy depending of the way u dress. I am sorry
Posted: June 25, 2025Hello! Liège is a nice city, but if you’re traveling alone, please be careful in the city center at night. During the day, I feel quite safe, but in the evenings I try not to be alone. There are definitely some quiet and pleasant neighborhoods, but in my opinion, the city center in the evening or at night is not very safe.

I went to Ghent for 3 days and stayed at the Upplink hostel. It was a great experience because the hostel has a lot of young people, it is in a perfect location and very well organized. The hostel staff were very friendly and gave me a city tour. The city is very beautiful and easy to get around because all the attractions are close by. The castle is definitely worth a visit. Try the Ghent Noses. The restaurants are expensive, and for a solo traveler with a very small salary, I think it is worth buying a sandwich at Carrefour for lunch 🤣

This was my first time in Belgium! I LOVED IT!!! Brugge is so pretty and everyone is very friendly!! Some things me and my friends did: - a canal boat tour (definetely worth it even if you aren’t into touristy stuff- the views of the nature and houses are so amazing from the canals) - beer flight tasting in the main square area - ate a lot of French fries and drank a lot of beer!! I also love finding record stores in Europe and Brugge had a few good ones! Safety: 10/10 during the day (I wasn’t there at night) everyone was so nice and friendly
