Antwerp is a pretty safe place to be during the day. At night, I dont like to party in antwerp because almost every club can have cases of harassment. (That’s why I only go to queer parties <3) I’d recommend going to “De Studio”, “TRIX”, "KAVKA OUDAAN", "club capital" or “TRAUM” for a safe(r) partying environment. I'd say stay away from stadspark at night time!! To walk around at night has mostly been safe for me but I always recommend taking an e-scooter for ultimate safety!
Posted: June 10, 2025Antwerp is an overall very safe city, they’re ofcourse some places you shouldn’t walk alone and definitely not in the dark. But if you stay away from those neighbourhoods you should be just fine. The big places are fine to walk alone and are very safe, also a lot of people around. Some men will whistle or say something, but it mostly stays with that.
Posted: June 9, 2025I feel quite unsafe, but that has more to do with me than the city. My younger female sibling and friends don't feel so unsafe. I think it has more to do with my family and being the oldest that I'm on a high alert.
Posted: June 5, 2025i think antwerp is safe. you just have to use your common sense. i will give an example. but don't get me wrong. men are still responsible for their own actions. what i am trying to say is that if you walk around in the dark in a skirt where you can see your butt and a super sexy top. then the chance of something happening is just bigger. but like i said every man should know that this is not an agreement on anything.
Posted: May 27, 2025You need to be mindfull. Keep your possessions close. As a woman, you will experience a lot of cat calling, aswell during the day and after dark. Best is to take an uber home/ to the hotel after going out at night.
Posted: April 19, 2025Antwerp can be dangerous at times, but i think its mostly gang crimes. If u walk in the city and the public areas, i always felt pretty safe. I think u need to be more careful with small roads etc. But i believe thats almost everywhere as a woman, unfortunately

I always felt very safe in Antwerp during the day but also at night. There is a lot to do a lot of cute cafés, cool museums and also a lot of political events happening all the time. It rains a lot there tho and it is a very windy city as well. The people I have met were all very friendly and spoke great English. A lot of men kept winking at me or whistling at me but never anything more.

I visited Antwerp in September, which was a good choice as the weather was excellent for sightseeing: 20°C and the city itself lends itself to walking. If you only speak English, be prepared for some inconveniences as locals (understandably) might not be able to communicate in that language. Regarding the most important bit: I felt safe in the city and in my hotel, no one bothered me. I really recommend getting the Antwerp pass, as most museums are included in that and they have a great selection in the area and the price is absolutely fair. The city has amazing food, I recommend visiting the chocolate shops and getting waffles from street vendors-much cheaper and even better tasting! The prices can be higher then some other places in Europe, especially in restaurants so I recommend checking your options before going. Otherwise you will not spend too much money on activities if you buy the pass, so you can save money there. I do have to warn you, that the hotel, flights, food, and souvenirs may add up but it's worth it:)) This was my first solo trip, I loved the experience and I gained valuable insight during this short holiday!
