Brussel is overall a very safe city, of course some places are less safe than other but that’s the same in every city I personally had never had something stolen in the transport or in the city even in the most touristic places Of course pay attention but most important of all : enjoy Brussels

There are space in brussel you must avoid like station or street not popular dont stay alone too much after night be careful but hopefully there are many good people and they always help you in case of danger
Posted: August 7, 2025Brussels can be unsafe late at night next/close to the stations so be careful, also in the center (Bourse, place Sainte-Catherine,…). Otherwise, I find it relatively safe but maybe it is because I live here so I am used to it.

I am not often alone, I never had problems but of course because it is a big city, there are some areas where you shouldn’t go as Molenbeek. The thing is I am always with friends or family so I feel like I can’t give a total accurate answer to this
Posted: July 29, 2025As every other city (I guess), some neighbourhoods are more peaceful than others, but Brussels is globally a very safe city according to me (a full time resident). I would recommend to inform yourself on which neighbourhoods to choose for your housing or your nighttime visits, but otherwise it’s pretty chill.
Posted: July 20, 2025It's depends of the neighborhood. Sometimes I feel safer and other times i don't. The public transport are safe enough but sometimes I do not like how men are looking at me.

Brussels is an amazing city, so lively full of different culture and people. Everyone speaks English but the avarege life is pretty expensive especially the food. I will suggest to visit the Art Noveau houses and the gardens (there are many and all amazing). It's actually a pretty safe city but still be careful walking alone at night.

I visited Brussels recently and overall had a good experience. I felt mostly safe during the day, but in the evenings, I noticed a lot of groups of men walking around the city center, which made me feel a bit uncomfortable as a solo female traveler. That being said, the city itself is beautiful, full of historic architecture and great museums. I highly recommend visiting Grand Place, Atomium, and trying the local waffles and fries—they’re amazing. If you’re planning a short trip, 2–3 days are enough to cover the main sights. I’d suggest avoiding late evening walks alone, especially in less busy areas.
