It's a very safe place, but also depends on areas. There are areas such as South station, North Station and Anderlecht where it's less comfortable and safe at night alone. But during the day any spot would do
Posted: January 15, 2025Need to take the usual precautions to be honest, as a women travelling solo it’s always good to take Ubers in the night as we cannot trust other people to keep us safe. Very good to listen to this advice
Posted: January 13, 2025Not in a place in the world it’s safe for us, women. We will never be safe. Everywhere we’ll feel unsafe. It’s the lever of safety that change. In brussels. If you want to be alone, in a park there will be always a man to bother you. I recommend to not walk yourself at hime at night. Be always careful no matter where city or country you are.

I think Brussels is a safe city overall. It is not perfect but if you pay a little attention to your belongings and to what surrounds you, you should be all fine! The city is quiet modern and usually crowded so you can always find help somewhere.
Posted: January 3, 2025Brussels is overall a pretty safe city. Some neighbourhoods are of course more dangerous than others. The center is for example not the safest place to go out. Flagey or place de Londres are better to be safe and you can still dance and have fun in the bars.
Posted: January 2, 2025Brussels is crowded in general because of tourism so be careful with your belongings can be stolen (as in any crowded place). Apart from that try to avoid the train stations in the night, specially Gare du Midi
Posted: January 2, 2025Brussels is Safe enough ! As in any city, things can happen but les than 1% chance of. As everywhere it is important to pay attention at night or empty areas. If you come to Brussels, I can inform you on places where to go or not.

Brussels transport is very safe and poeple are so nice so it's easy to ask for help. There are stickers on some doors that indicate where you can knock if someone follows you. So even at night poeple mind their own buissnes

I would say that if you stay in the city center or close, in safe neighborhoods it’s definetely quite safe during the day. Avoid Gare du Nord especially at night. Be very careful at your belongings especially in the city center you might get your phone stolen if you leave your bag open for exemple
Posted: December 30, 2024I guess it's safe I just am paranoid but it's a big city and capital so of course it's scary. Nothing never really happened to expect for guys coming and talk but I think I'm scary for them too I'm tall and to sacred of talking back .

I visited Belgium and stayed in Brussels with a friend. I explored the Grand Place, tasted amazing chocolates and waffles, and enjoyed the vibrant culture and beautiful architecture. It was unforgettable!
Posted: August 6, 2024Experienced: June, 2024I spent two days in Brussels as a young woman alone. I stayed in a hostel near the center. In general it was very nice. The city was very chaotic and especially near the Midi station and in the non-tourist neighborhoods you have to be careful and I don't recommend going out alone at night. But in general I didn't have a bad experience.

My name is Zoé, I am a travel addict. I love to discover the world but above all I love to meet people from different cultures. I am always keen to learn new things and meet new people. I am also passionate about languages. I speak fluently French, English and Spanish. I am currently learning Italian, and my next goal is to get familiar with Portugese. I also started running and biking lately, which is something that allows me to empty my mind and feel free.
