Just moved to Rome from Florida. Traveling Europe for a bitty. Looking forward to making new connections ☺️ I graduated with a software engineering degree last year after spending yearssss working three jobs while going to school full time, so I am just out here seizing all opportunities to passionately enjoy being alive. Things I like to do when traveling: Eat good food, have a nice cocktail at a rooftop bar or get a bird's eye view, hike a trail or simply wander city streets, enjoy a botanical garden, go to a museum, danceeeeee, check out a live music event, and meet new people!

I'm Italian-American from Livorno (Tuscany). I love Rome and I love history, so hit me up if you want to explore lesser known but interesting spots in the city, or just try new restaurants with me. My roommate and I can host as well, although it's just the uncomfortable sofa bed in the living room 😅

Aiza
Hey girls,My friends call me Aizayyyy (they love to add as many "y"s as they can). I am calm, polite, and a very good listener and observer. I'm a student, and my complex and difficult research sometimes makes me crazy, but on the side, I like to explore and visit new places. I love to cook for others, though not so much for myself 😆. I strongly believe in doing good and helping everyone, as you'll be rewarded with something good in any form.

I was in Rome for about 4 days and really recommend it. I think 4-5 days is the perfect length to stay. The public transportation was very easy and affordable and I felt pretty safe as a female solo traveler. There is a lot to do and see.

1) I loved all the ancient history and churches. I wish I would have gone inside the Parthenon and the more in depth tour of the Colosseum. I did the Roman forum and palatine hill myself and it was quite nice to explore alone. 2) I hated the Vatican. It was a waste of time and I couldn’t even enjoy it because it was so busy. Could barely move there were so many people. It wasn’t something I was even interested enough in that the hassle was worth it. 3) I felt pretty safe. It definitely was a little sketchy by the train stations but otherwise I felt fine. The police with the guns made me feel safe. However, some of the not feeling safe at times was more probably due to Italian culture being more directive and less BS than America. Like drivers and people arguing and being a bit more reckless can feel sketchy but it’s just culture and nothing sketchy.

My trip to Rome was very memorable. I used Couchsurfing and fortunately I made very good friends. I used public transport such as bus and metro which was easy to use, with a little help from maps. The food is absolutely amazing, traditional Italian food like pasta and if you want to try pizza, go further south in Italy. The prices were average, I wouldn’t say expensive or cheap, it’s affordable. The weather it’s hot in the summer, so be prepared. You must visit Colosseo on the last Sunday of the month, it’s free. Vatican City is also a must, a beautiful place.

In Rome, you need to be careful about robbery, at least that was what everyone told us but neither me or any of my friends lived something like that, we might be just lucky though. I went there alone and met some perfect friends there, and the city was perfect, so it will always have a unique place at my heart. I have been in several cities and 7 countries now and Rome is still my favorite. It is not expensive at all for a city where is that famous. You should definitely see Trastevere if you are interested in the places where young people hanging out.
