Couple travel experience
I just simply fell in love with this city. Many people don’t stay here long, because they use it as a stop for their trip around Puglia. But let me tell you, I felt so at home. And although Bari is known as a rather dangerous city I never felt unsafe, I often walked home alone in the middle of the night (I stayed in the city center, just fyi)I could probably write a full food guide, but you must try Frulez, and Panzerotti & Focaccia at Magda. And so many cute vintage shops, Piattini D’avanguardia, Eroi, Prinz Zaum etc etc. Also: If you’re there in November/December: Check out the Bari International Gender Film Festival!<3

I was in Bari with my daughter and I felt safe. The old town of Bari is very beautiful, though small. Overall, it's not an exceptionally charming city, but it's quite decent and definitely a great starting point. We stayed in a district located between the station and the old town, and everything was fine there. As is tradition in Italy, the areas directly around the station are the least pleasant.

Group travel experience
Our stay in Bari is pretty short as we expect to take the ferry soon to Greece but it was overall a good experience :) The beach was nice, the people were welcoming and the coffee great ! I really appreciated the surroundings also.

Discovering the area of Puglia was a great experience. Extremely recommended for solo travellers. Food is amazing and people are exceptional. I think my trip was 50% tourist and 50% local. It was one of the best experiences in Italy.
