Malta is generally safe for solo female travellers. The country has a low crime rate and is generally considered to be a safe destination for women travelling alone. The locals are friendly and welcoming, and the country is well-connected with public transport, making it easy to get around. Additionally, Malta is a popular tourist destination, so there are plenty of other travellers around to socialise with.

I had a great time in Malta. I stayed for a week in July on the island of Gozo. Malta felt very safe. I only spent one day in Valletta and it was peaceful and friendly city. I didn't have any problems with street harassment. Swimming in the sea in Gozo was safe, and I also went on a snorkeling trip for half a day. There were lots of historic sites in Gozo, like ancient temples, and the cathedral in Valletta is worth seeing (you need to cover your shoulders and knees). I also visited a beautiful hill town called Mdina that was like something from a fairy tale. The temperatures were very hot, over 30 degrees Celsius every day.
Posted: August 2, 2023Malta is great for women traveling solo. I went there last month for the first time and loved it. I felt totally safe and all things to see were easily reachable by public buses.
Posted: July 30, 2023Malta is absolutely beautiful and the people are so nice. I felt so so so safe there and I struggle with anxiety sometimes. I recommend taking a trip to Gozo a little island you take a ferry from mainland Malta. Very cheap country and very nice people as well.
Posted: July 30, 2023Malta can be a safe destination for solo female travelers, but it's important to take some precautions to ensure your safety. Here are some safety tips for solo female travelers in Malta:
Always be aware of your surroundings and trust your instincts. If something doesn’t feel right, leave the area and find a safe place.
It is best to avoid walking alone at night, especially in unfamiliar areas. If you must walk alone, stay in well-lit areas and be aware of your surroundings.
When choosing a place to stay, make sure it is in a safe area. Research the area and read reviews before booking a hotel or hostel.
Carry only the cash you need for the day and leave the rest in a safe place.
Avoid wearing or carrying expensive items such as jewelry or electronics.
Never accept drinks from strangers as they may be spiked with drugs.
Never leave your drink unattended as it may be spiked with drugs.
Hitchhiking is not recommended as it can be dangerous.
Have a plan for where you are going and how you will get there.
Let someone know where you are going and when you expect to return.

Posted: August 17, 2023Can anyone please tell me where on Malta the typical “tourist zone” would be? I am in St. Paul’s Bay, and I am just looking for the pubs, restaurants, shops, souvenirs, etc. Thank you ladies
Posted: August 16, 2023I am solo traveling to Malta at the start of July and I am thinking of going for 11 nights. This is my first time solo traveling so I am anxious to fill up each day with activities/sightseeing. When on holidays I spend a lot of time on the beach (I know there are no sandy beaches in Malta) so I am starting to think that maybe 11 nights is too long? Please give me suggestions of fun stuff to do ...
Posted: May 21, 2023I am travelling to Valletta, the capital city of Malta, for 2 days only. I found rooms quite expensive there, and I want to travel on a budget. Other options I find for accommodation are St. Julians or Sliema, nearby cities. It seems like access to these cities from Valletta is easy. But I want to know if anyone has any experience? Because I am interested in visiting Valletta and not the other ...

I have booked accommodation in the area of Birzebugga and would like to visit the ancient landmarks. I also plan to stay in Valletta at some point too. I plan to be there for around 3-4 weeks. It will be my first time in Malta :-) Thank you kindly
