Safety at night:Safe

Gozo is generally a safe destination for solo female travelers, even at night. The island has lower crime rates than many other destinations. However, it's always important to be cautious and aware of your surroundings. It's advisable to stay in well-lit areas and avoid deserted streets or areas late at night when walking alone. Always take note of the local customs, and embrace a respectful attitude towards them to ensure a peaceful visit.

Public transportation:Safe

Public transportation in Gozo is generally safe and reliable. The island is well-serviced by a comprehensive network of buses, and it is quite easy to get around on foot as well. However, keep in mind that buses can sometimes be crowded, so keep an eye on your belongings at all times. Despite this, incidents of harassment are rare, and locals are often willing to help should you need any assistance.

Street harassment:Low

Gozo is generally a safe place for solo female travelers. The local population is largely respectful and mindful of personal space. Nevertheless, it is always essential to stay alert and cautious in areas that can be secluded and during late hours. Minor and occasional street harassment incidents may occur, like whistle or cat-calling, especially during the summer tourist season.

Petty crimes:Low

Malta, including Gozo, generally has a low level of crime. However, as is the case of every tourist destination, there may be instances of petty crime such as pick-pocketing and purse snatching, especially in crowded tourist spots and public transportation. It is recommended to always be aware of your surroundings and keep your personal belongings secure.

Tap water:Safe

While Malta's tap water is safe to drink as it meets WHO's standards and undergoes rigorous testing, many locals and tourists often prefer bottled water, as the tap water can have a strong taste due to the high mineral content and the desalination process. You should be completely fine using it for drinking, cooking and brushing your teeth, but some travelers opt for bottled water for the taste.

I felt very safe during the whole trip. The island of Gozo is full of interesting places such as beautiful landscapes, amazing beaches, cliffs and caves. The building ruins older than Stonehenge were very interesting. Locals were very friendly.
