In comparison to other countries in Europe, Malta is on the safer side. Still, I would always exercise caution especially at night & if you are drinking! Walking alone during the day is ok, but certain areas, especially Paceville and Sliema are not recommended for solo women in the evenings!!
Posted: June 12, 2025Overall it is not bad compared to other places, but it is always good to stay cautious and keeping an eye out just in case. Expect being cat called. Avoid being alone in areas like paceville and qormi
Posted: May 30, 2025Overall it is not too bad. There are a few freaks who will stare and sometimes grab. I have been fine at night but there are who have been attacked so stay wary. Cat calling isn't out of the blue.
Posted: May 28, 2025For me, Malta is a very safe country with low crime rates and a welcoming atmosphere. Petty theft is rare, and it’s generally safe to walk around even at night, including in tourist areas. but obviously you need to be careful wherever you go.

In my honest opinion of being here three months, Malta is fine. yes, some men are a bit too much, but I’ve not experienced anything bad, only too much talking or questions. Overall, if you are not alone, you are most likely going home happy, with good memories and probably tipsy.
Posted: April 26, 2025I've been living here for two years and I've never had even a minor fight. I’ m living St. julian’s. I stayed in Sliema for about 9 months, it is a quieter area. I'm afraid of something being stolen or returning home late at night.

We went there with my boy to camp for the whole time. Every night we were changing location and we were camping in the wild. First night we made a mistake because we arrived to the location where we wanted to stay after sunset so it was really hard to set up our camp but next morning we woke up with a beautiful view that we didn't expect. It was magical. One night we camped on the beach (it was illegal in theory but we asked local people living close by and they told us that it should be fine as we are not in peak season there). We camped for 4 nights and thanks to that we didn't spend too much money + we experienced nature and beautiful connection with the island. I would 100% recommend a similar trip to everyone. Just pack your backpack and go! 💛

Good Food, most part of the time it’s greece food Felt safe Sweet places Very cheap Lot of activities for tourists Beautiful sunrises and sunsets The weather is good , if you go in summer, it’s a little bit too much you have to go to the sea or pool
