I've been living here for two years and I've never had even a minor fight. I’ m living St. julian’s. I stayed in Sliema for about 9 months, it is a quieter area. I'm afraid of something being stolen or returning home late at night.
Posted: April 1, 2025Valletta is super safe compared to other cities. I am not worried about being mugged or taken. The Maltese are all relatively relaxed except in some tourist areas but this is to be expected. Just always be conscious of your surroundings but there is no extra concerns.

I have been living in Malta for 6 months now. It is a very safe place and people are kind to each other. Everyone is ready to help you if you struggle. There are many nationalities here and it is a very safe place for cultural exchange.
Posted: March 24, 2025Many different people live in here, on evening or night you wolk alone in the street and everywhere. All people helpful. There are people from different country. Generally Indian people live for work, Many students live here for English learning
Posted: March 9, 2025Honestly, it is quite a safe area, I've rarely felt increasingly worried about my safety. Now that is not to say that it is absolutely perfect because I have been catcalled very often, but it is not to the point where I am scared of being followed as they tend to stop once ignored.
Posted: February 19, 2025Malta is safe like most EU countries. Avoid St Julians area alone early in the mornings - Valletta, Rabat, Mdina, Zurrieq, San Gwann, Birgu, Mellieha. Enjoy, it’s absolutely gorgeous! Shops and restaurants may be found literally in each city. Try the hypogeums and hiking trails - there’s a lot around and feel free to DM for more!
Posted: February 4, 2025It’s very nice and safe. I never had men shouting things at me late at night. There is good lighting overal. I don’t get talked to a lot in the street in overal. The locals seem very respectful and friendly.
Posted: January 22, 2025I have been living here all my life. I can’t say that it’s as safe as I was when I was a kid, but it’s still considered very safe compared to other places. But like everywhere else, more cars and more people so obviously we still need to be careful etc but overall, very safe.
Posted: January 20, 2025I have been living in Mosta for two years. Locals are kind and warm, ready to provide information. I never felt unsafe whether the streets were crowded or empty, during the day or at night. Lots of CCTV, local police is present for bigger events like the village feast. People sometimes drive a bit fast on the larger roads in the outskirts of the city which can be poorly lit at night.

I feel very safe walking after dark, everybody is polite, I have never experienced catcalling or any other harrasment so far. If I am overreacting, you can even leave your bag unattented at one place, leave come back later and it will still be there😆

I was in Malta two years ago and it was amazing. I stayed in Sliema at a host family because I did a language course there, everything was easily accessible. I walked along to the water and took the ferry to Valletta (2€ or so for a 15 min ride which was really nice). Everything was easily accessible by bus, which goes along the coast. I also visited St. Julian’s. Even though it was october, everyday were like 23-28°C. I felt really safe (but I wasn’t out after 9:30 pm). Would absolutely recommend
Posted: March 26, 2025I stayed at Sprachcafé which was quite expensive and not worth it to be honest the room was super small and I had to share it with two people I couldn't take my stuff out of my suitcase:( but other than that it was great I love the scenery and also they don't check your age when you want to buy alcohol or get into clubs and when I walked down this one street with many clubs like literally every few meters someone would hand me a paper with free drinks for women only 😍 I had a lot of fun in my time staying in Malta and I visited different cities and they all looked beautiful I felt very safe even at night walking alone in dark streets and all the people I met were really kind
